SUNGLASSES ARE NOT ALL THE SAME!

Sunglasses can be found just about anywhere - $1.00
stores, hardware stores, convenience stores, optical shops, mall
kiosks, even resale shops! You can pay hundreds of dollars for
a single pair. However, the price doesn't necessarily have
anything to do with the degree of protection provided by the
sunglasses you buy.
There are just a handful of sunglass factories in the
world. Whether you pay $1.00 or $1,000, the glasses you buy
were made in one of those few factories. Although the glasses
you buy may have "Italy" stamped inside the frame, that does not
mean that they were made in Italy. They were probably
designed in Italy. Currently, there are no sunglass
factories in the U.S.
All of the sunglasses which are imported into this country must
block out at least 85% of the sun's Ultra Violet rays. Most of
them block out 100% of UV. Now, you can't feel UV
rays, so the fact that sunglasses block out all of them is no
guarantee that they will make your eyes feel good. In fact,
ultra violet light is not the only light which is harmful.
Don't run out now and buy ultra-dark lenses. Dark lenses may
not be more protective than light ones.
So, what should your sunglasses do? Well, in
addition to full UV blocking, you should look for sunglasses which
block HEV light. HEV is high energy
visible light. It is part of the blue light
spectrum. Yup, those old blue blockers you had, years ago,
were probably better for your eye health than the designer glasses
you paid $120 for last month.
HEV light scatters in your eye. You cannot focus on it. Your eyes
are in the business of focusing on anything you look at, so they
struggle continually, trying to make a nice, clear picture for you
with that blue light. The result is that your eyes get tired
and sore. You may get headaches or your eyes may sting or
burn. Still, there is a haze that you can't focus on.
Once the HEV light is filtered out, as it is in our lenses, the haze
is gone! Your vision clears and your eyes relax.
Depth perception improves, colors seem brighter and clearer.
You even find that, with an HEV lens, you can see better in fog or
rain.
The most important benefit of an HEV blocking lens is that it can
help you avoid the number one cause of blindness: macular
degeneration. If you go to our health care section, you can find
references there which explain macular degeneration.
Nearly all of the HEV blocking lenses on the market sell for
$60-$400. They may carry a designer name or have glass
lenses. Some of them have fancy, expensive frames.
But, the only thing about them that makes any difference to the
health and comfort of your eyes is the way that they filter light.
So, why pay those high prices?
Our sunglasses have a UV rating of 400 and they block HEV.
The lens materials are optical quality - that means they have no
distortion and they are clear to look through. All are
scratch-resistant and shatterproof. Our Manufacturer's
Lifetime Replacement Warranty lets you mail
in your sunglasses and get a new pair any time they become
damaged in any way - even if the damage is due to mishandling on
your part. Most sunglass warranties only cover manufacturing
defects.
All of our sunglasses are special ordered for sale by our trained
dealers only. They travel from the manufacturing plant to
our supplier (Sunglass Discounters, Inc.), in Florida.
From there, they are sent directly to the individual Third
Generation authorized dealers, where you may buy them. This
very simple distribution system saves an amazing amount of
money. No money is spent on advertising. Your
endorsement is our ad medium. These savings are passed along
to you.
Thank you for your interest in our technology and in your own
vision.
